400 sarpanches, 250 farmers, laborers associated with Central Vista... these 1800 people will be special guests at the Red Fort in the celebration of independence.

The central government has invited around 1,800 special guests from across the country to attend the Independence Day celebrations to be held at the Red Fort on August 15. PM-Kisan beneficiaries are also included in this. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag on this occasion.

After a few hours, the country is going to celebrate its 77th Independence Day. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the countrymen from the ramparts of the Red Fort for a record 10th consecutive time. Adequate security arrangements have been made around the Red Fort. The Independence Day celebrations to be held on August 15 at the Red Fort are going to be special in many ways. This time around 1,800 special guests from across the country including PM-Kisan beneficiaries have been invited here.

This has been done in line with the ‘public participation’ approach of the earlier government. These special guests include more than 400 sarpanchs from more than 660 vibrant villages. In addition, 250 farmers associated with the Farmer Producer Organization Scheme; 50-50 participants of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana; This includes 50 Shram Yogis (construction workers), and 50-50 Khadi workers of the Central Vista project including the new Parliament House.
Those helping and working in the Cathedral and Amrit Sarovar scheme of the Border Roads Organization have also been invited to attend the Independence Day celebrations. Apart from this, the names of teachers, nurses, and traders of 50 primary schools are also included in the list.

According to the Defense Ministry, some of these special guests will visit the National War Memorial during their visit to Delhi and meet Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt. Ministry of Defense informed that each state 

 

All the official invitations have been sent online through the invitation portal (www.aamantran.mod.gov.in). 17,000 e-invitation cards have been issued through this portal.

Defense Minister will welcome PM

On reaching Red Fort, the Prime Minister will be received by Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defense Shri Ajay Bhatt, and Defense Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramne. Defense Secretary Lt Gen Dheeraj Seth to introduce the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Delhi Sector to the Prime Minister. Thereafter, the GOC, Delhi Sector will escort Shri Narendra Modi to the Saluting Venue, where a joint Inter-Services and Delhi Police guard will salute the Prime Minister. After this, the Prime Minister will inspect the Guard of Honour. As soon as the National Flag is unfurled by the Prime Minister, flowers will be showered at the venue by two Advanced Light Helicopters Mark-III Dhruv of the Indian Air Force in side row configuration. The captain of the helicopter will be Wing Commander Amber Aggarwal and Squadron Leader Himanshu Sharma. In addition, NCC cadets in uniform will be made to sit on the Gyan Path as part of the ceremony. Another attraction will be the G-20 insignia, which will be part of the flower arrangement at the Red Fort.
